2024 College Football Playoff Bracket: How does it work?
The 155th NCAA College Football playoff season will run from December 20 to January 20 and the top 12 teams competing for the 2024-25 College Football Playoff road to the National Championship Game on January 20. It will be the first season of 12 teams to make playoffs.
Who plays the College Football Playoff 2023-24?
The 2024-25 College Football Playoff will take place between the six conference champions. The Playoff begins with the two semifinal games Orange Bowl and Cotton Bowl.
- Orange Bowl – Matchup: No. 1 vs. No. 4 ranked team.
- Cotton Bowl – Matchup: No. 2 vs. No. 3 ranked.
2024-25 College Football Playoff How does it work?
The College Football Playoff has been working on 12 teams’ fields in 2024 format. The top six conference champions highest ranked will automatically bid, and the conference champions will play a first-round bye to the single-elimination quarterfinal round. The remaining second-highest-ranked six teams will fill out the 12-team format.
The highest seed will play home advantage against the lowest seed in the playoff first-round field. The quarterfinal round and the semifinal will be played in the bowl games on a rotating basis, and the national championship game will be played with the natural sites. First-round games seed: No. 12 at No. 5, No. 11 at No. 6, No. 10 at No. 7, No. 9 at No. 8.
